Terms

Last updated August 5, 2026. LocalEditor is built and sold by an individual, Nikhil Yadav — not a registered company. These terms cover the software license; purchases themselves are governed by Dodo Payments' own terms, linked below.

What you're buying

A LocalEditor purchase is a license to run the app on one Mac at a time — not a transfer of ownership or source code. Beta licenses are free for 30 days; Early Adopter and Standard licenses are permanent. See Help for activating, moving to a new Mac, and losing access.

Usage

Your license key is yours alone — don't share, resell, or redistribute it. Beyond that, use LocalEditor however you like: personal notes, client work, whatever real folders you point it at.

Purchases & refunds

Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for every purchase and handles billing, tax, and refunds directly under its own Buyer Terms. If something's wrong with your order, start there — or email [email protected] and we'll help sort it out.

No warranty

LocalEditor is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. It's actively developed by one person — things can break. Your files are always plain, standard formats on your own disk, readable and editable in any other app regardless of what LocalEditor does, which is the whole point of building it this way.
